The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Bauchi State Chapter has expressed sympathy to victims who lost their valuables to the Bababa Plaza inferno in Wunti Market, Bauchi on Saturday.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the party state chairman, Ambassador Khalid Arewa and made available to newsmen Monday in Bauchi. The chairman disclosed that the fire incident is tragic particularly in this very difficult period that citizens are all grappling with the economic situation and how to survive with little businesses.
The statement further said, “and for all those who lost their property, it is not because they have offended God in one way or the other. We should take it in good faith.
“We must also thank God that there was no loss of life, but at the same time, we must call on relevant authorities like the Bauchi State Government and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to adequately compensate the victims of this fire outbreak.
The party also commiserated with the family of Saidu Tela over the demise of his son, Mu’awiyah Sa’idu Tela.
In the condolence message, the party said, “the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Bauchi State Chapter heartily sends its condolence to the family of Alhaji Saidu Tela over the death of his son, Muawuya Saildu Tela who passed away on Saturday night.
“Late Muawuya Saidu Tela distinguished himself as a patriotic, upright, dogged, and honest youth who dedicated his life at all times towards the good of his fellow youths and Bauchi State at large,” the party stated.
PRP: INEC disgraces Sule Bello, says Falalu Bello remains National Chairman
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disgraced one Prof. Sule Bello who approached the commission’s headquarters in Abuja and introduced himself as the interim National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
Reliable sources from the commission had narrated that Sule Bello went to the commission’s headquarters last week claiming that the stakeholders of the PRP had sacked Alhaji Falalu Bello from the position of PRP National Chairman and appointed him as the interim National Chairman of the party.
The top officials of the INEC did ask Sule Bello that who were the stakeholders and their respective positions. The question that Sule Bello couldn’t answer. They also asked him whether the PRP Constitution empowered the so-called stakeholders to remove or appoint the National Chairman of the party. The question that Sule Bello still couldn’t answer. In addition, the management of INEC asked Sule Bello whether they invited the INEC or had a presence of INEC officials during the so-called stakeholders meeting. The question that Sule Bello couldn’t answer again.
The INEC management finally informed Sule Bello that the commission is a serious institution that does not entertain frivolity or stupidity from anybody. It affirmed that Alhaji Falalu Bello remains the National Chairman of the party considering the fact that the commission did not receive any communication from the PRP that indicated a change of leadership in the party.
Our correspondent gathered that the INEC management had warned Sule Bello to stop parading himself as the National Chairman of the PRP henceforth.
Angry with the questions asked by the INEC management and unsavoury treatment received from them, Sule Bello stormed out of the INEC headquarters in a very sad mood.
Sule Bello, who went to the Commission in company of one lanky anonymous person, has been parading himself as the interim National Chairman of the PRP despite several warnings from relevant authorities and persons admonishing him to desist from such act as it is tantamount to a criminal impersonation, a crime that may land him in jail.
A further check by our correspondent on the INEC website had shown that Alhaji Falalu Bello, OFR is still the National Chairman of the PRP while Mr. Babatunde Alli is the National Secretary of the party.
Alhaji Falalu Bello has become the National Chairman of the PRP in September, 2018, following the step down of late Malam Balarabe Musa from the position.
Prior to his ascension to the position of PRP National Chairman, Alhaji Falalu Bello was once the Managing Director/CEO of Unity Bank Plc.
A 1978 Law graduate from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Falalu Bello started his Legal career with the Kaduna State Government as Magistrate II and subsequently moved to Northern Nigeria Investment Company Limited as Senior Executive/Acting Company Secretary.
He was later appointed Kaduna State Government Commissioner for Trade and Industry. He was appointed Managing Director/CEO of Habib Nigeria Bank Limited in 1994 until 1998 when he was appointed Managing Director/CEO of Intercity Bank Plc. He resigned as Vice Chairman/Managing Director in 2001. In 2001, he was appointed Managing Director of Nigerian Agricultural Development Bank Limited.
Alhaji Falalu Bello holds the National honour of the Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR) and the traditional title of Danmasanin Zazzau.

Ramadan: PRP Calls for Prayers, Peaceful Coexistence
The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has urged Nigerians to use the period of the holy Ramadan to ardently pray for the nation as well as live in peace with one another as instructed by the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SWA).
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Falalu Bello and made available to news on Monday in Abuja.
According to the statement, “the party observes that the Holy month of Ramadan is a period of retreat; retreat from unnecessary worldly pleasures to spiritual introspection; a retreat from self-indulgence to devotion and dedication. The Holy month of Ramadan is also a great occasion for human race, particularly Nigerians to seek the blessings and favours of the Almighty God.”
The statement further disclosed that “it is a common knowledge that Nigeria has been bedeviled by security, social and economic challenges, among others. Hence, this Holy month of Ramadan is a divine opportunity for the leaders and the led to fast and fervently supplicate for national unity, peace, prosperity and stability of our nation.
“Also, the PRP urges Nigerians to use the Holy month of Ramadan to resuscitate the values that unite us as compatriots and jettison all divisive proclivities that ruin the configuration of our nation. As citizens of one nation, we need to rejuvenate and rekindle the spirit of peaceful coexistence, forgiveness, magnanimity and tolerance in all our dealings.
“Penultimately, we emphatically call on the ruling government to urgently bring an end to the scourges of kidnappings, banditry, insurgency and other acts of violence in various parts of our country.”
Finally, the party had prayed for Nigeria and wished all Muslim faithfuls a happy and successful Ramadan.
