INEC denies Sule Bello’s claim, says Falalu Bello remains PRP National Chairman

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has on Thursday stated that it does not know the existence of someone by the name Sule Bello who claims to be the interim National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).

When contacted by our reporter to know if the Commission is aware of someone by the name Sule Bello who parades himself as the interim National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), the electoral commission responded by saying that they are not aware of that person.

The commission further revealed that the person they know and recognize as the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) is Mallam Falalu Bello, OFR.

According to the commission, it had a meeting with Mallam Falalu Bello and other National Chairmen of political parties few days ago to review the 2019 general elections and see how to ensure the success of 2023 elections. Therefore, according to the commission, anybody parading himself as the National Chairman of the PRP other than Mallam Falalu Bello should be avoided by the general public and dealt with by the relevant authorities.

The INEC added that this should not be a debatable issue considering the fact that the names of PRP leaders and that of other political parties are already on the website of the commission (https://www.inecnigeria.org/party/peoples-redemption-party/) and anybody who claims to be a leader of a political party but his or her name is not on the website is nothing but an impostor that relevant authorities should deal with mercilessly.

The commission had finally advised the general public to regularly check its website to know the leaders of political parties so as to avoid being scammed by impostors.

When our correspondent reached out to one of the PRP leaders to enquire if they are aware that some impostors led by one Sule Bello are parading themselves as interim leaders, the party official revealed that they got the information recently but they would soon take action against the impostors despite the fact that they are busy with the day to day activities of the party.

“Even though we have no time for nonsensical elements and distraction, but we would take appropriate action against these impostors that are certainly sent by the opposition party to cause problem in our dear party, the PRP,” the party official stated.

He finally disclosed that preparations are on top gear for the party to capture power comes 2023.

Being New Year 2021 Message to Nigerians by Alhaji Falalu Bello, OFR, National Chairman, Peoples Redemption Party (PRP)

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) wishes to congratulate Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, on the celebration of New Year’s Day, 2021.

The year 2020 has been one of the most difficult years, not only for Nigeria, but the world over. The COVID-19 pandemic with its associated economic, social and healthcare challenges have indeed been traumatic for all. Here in Nigeria, these challenges have compounded already existing endemic challenges which have over the years rendered the lives of our citizens not only short and painful but veritably brutish. We are thankful to God for sparing our lives to witness the end of this horrific year.

While looking forward to a much more clement 2021, we cannot forget our controversial voyage of difficulties and regrets that this administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Party (APC) piloted us through since 2015. It is extremely sad that instead of addressing the challenges Nigeria faces and charting a more progressive and humane path forward, the APC government has got mired in the blame game. It atributes all its failures either to past administrations or to the political opposition or other voices of dissent.

In this regard, particular mention must be made of this APC administration’s utter failure to address the security challenge, the worsening state of the nation’s economy and the increasing pauperization of the citizenry. The PRP believes that Nigerians should hold this failed Administration responsible for all the ills that have befallen them under the inept leadership of the so-called, ‘Mr Integrity.’

As we move into 2021, the PRP calls on all well-meaning Nigerians to rededicate themselves to task of taking back their country from the grips of inept and ravenous rulers. We as Nigerian citizens must commit ourselves to the promotion of a united country, a democratic order and a just, prosperous and forward-looking society. The PRP is committed, as always, to these noble ideals. We call on all citizens to join us in the pursuit and struggle for their realization.

Happy and prosperous New Year, NIGERIA.

Alhaji Falalu Bello, OFR
(National Chairman, PRP)
